BRAIN BALLS!

BRAIN BALLS! Here is a recipe for delicious brain medicine.

Back in 2007, I suffered a traumatic brain injury that destroyed my life and mind. It was a long and arduous journey of recovery, and the devastation took a couple years to fully recover. Fortunately, I used herbal medicine as an effective part of the healing process, and I am back and better than ever!

I discovered a recipe from Rosemary Gladstar called Brain Balls that provided wondrous healing for my brain and body. Here is a version of the recipe that I modified to my liking, with additional herbs that she did not use in the original recipe.

BRAIN BALLS!
1.5 cup almond (cashew or any nut butter)
1.5 cup tahini (sesame butter)
2/3 -1 cup of honey (or adjust according to your taste)
1/2 cup cocoa or carob powder
1 tsp cardamom
1 tsp cinnamon

Herbs (powdered)
Some of these herbs may be hard to find, but use what you can.
The herbs can be bought in whole form, and put in a coffee grinder or VitaMix to bring to powdered form.
2 oz Gingko
2 oz Gotu Kola
2 oz Brahmi (Bacopa)
1 oz Siberian Ginseng
1/4 oz Rosemary
 1/16 – 1/8  oz Guarana (contains caffeine)
 1 oz Rhodiola Rosea
1 oz Nettles
1/2 oz Ashwaganda (Important to use powdered form, or it will be very grainy)
Optional
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (or nuts of your choice)
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup hemp
1/2 chia seeds
1/4 goji berries, etc.

In a large bowl, mix the nut butter, tahini and honey.
Mix  the dry ingredients separately, including herbs. Add the dry ingredients into the nut butter mix, and blend thoroughly. I found a cake mixer machine to be easier than mixing by hand.
Roll them into half ounce balls. If need any more binding material, add coconut oil. Optionally, roll the balls in orange, rose powder, cocoa poweder or coconut flakes. Eat 3 or more per day.
Keep in refrigerator for freshness.
After a while, I just put them all into a pan and ate that way, without even bothering to roll into balls 🙂
You can turn all of the above herbs into a tea, and get the same effects!
